Recycling is one of the best ways individual households can save natural resources. To figure out what households are recycling in the Broadlands, we looked at 1 year of data from Western Disposal on the tons of recycling and trash collected in the Broadlands.
Since December 2009 Households in the Broadlands are recycling an average of around 30% of the total materials they generate. This is up from only 23% last year! This means that households have increased recycling by about 35% since this project started.
One of the project's goals is to increase recycling by 50%. We are almost there so please don't stop now. Make sure to tell your neighbors about the My Green Broadlands project and don't forget to recycle at home and at work.
